2014 Update

After living in the Anchorage area for more than a year, I realized I was stuck somewhere I didn’t really want to be: I was working at a liquor store, not because I wanted to, but just so I could make a buck to pay the rent on my crummy trailer, Katrina was unemployed and depressed, and we were in a rut. We seized an opportunity to go to the remote arctic village of Kaktovik to work at the Harold Kaveolook School, where Katrina’s mother had been for most of the year. Now we’re making a go of it in this even more alien landscape…
